Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Mar 06, 2012Check this product out. http://gianigranite.com/ Although I am not a believer of putting paint, any kind of paint on counters due to microbial concerns, this product seems to be more common. Keep photos of the project and let us know what you decide to do and how it worked out.Helpful Reply

Terri J on Mar 06, 2012I will definitely take b/4 and after photos, wnd while I am at it I may just decide to change the cabinet colors as well. This project probably won't start until after golf season. I hate the game mysefl, but can't grudge my neighbor the one thing he does for himself. As for the chunck missing, should I keep adding to fill it up, so then the counter will be even?Helpful Reply

Peace Painting Co., Inc. on Mar 06, 2012Terri, you can take some Bondo, or Minwax Wood Repair Kit, and patch it in. This is a spackle-like compound that you add a hardener to, and sand. At that point, you will need to get a sample of paint to match the laminant and touch up only the spot. The hard part will be to get the paint match. Best, ChasHelpful Reply

Tri-Lite Builders ~ Homework Remodels on Mar 06, 2012Anything you do to patch your Formica will always look like a patch. You might want to consider replacing the offending section with a new section of formica, if your pattern is still available. Depending on your source it might cost a few hundred dollars, but it would be a fix that would be a good long term match.Helpful Reply

Terri J on Mar 07, 2012I agree with everyone - matching the paint on the formica will be impossible to do as it wil never look the same. The entire counter is a one peace L shaped section, so it will all have to be redone. It sounds as though this project will also have to be put on the back burner too. In the meantime, thank you all who answered this question, but I am getting tired of trying to fix thins myself...Helpful Reply
