When I purchased Flip the sunroom was so drab! It just had no character or charm. After I completed the $50 floor transformation (complete DIY tutorial here: (https://bachelorettepadflip.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/my-50-floor/), I needed to tackle the window treatments. But I had just one little problem...
I had SEVERAL [new!] windows in a row....the entire length of the room. There was no way I was going to find a curtain rod long enough, and I thought it would look awful putting several long curtain rods back-to-back. So I came up with a CHEAP and easy alternative...at Walmart of all places!
Hanging the $3 bistro curtain rod was extremely easy. Once it was screwed into the wall, I attached the curtains with the curtain hooks. I had several windows to do, but each window rod took about 5 minutes to hang.
After I got all of the window curtains hung, the sunroom took on an entirely different appearance! This method of curtain hanging is ideal when a normal rod won't fit, the window is excessively long, or you have several windows back-to-back like I did.
The transformation was so dramatic! For less than $100, I had a brand new floor and window treatments to highlight my brand new windows!

NancyMaria on May 11, 2016Great work, I have also used pieces of old rods by just purchasing the rod holders for odd sizes. You can always make interesting cap ends out of something. FYI my easy trick to place fabric on rods is to pull off the end or pull apart in the middle and place a thimble on the end and place into fabric opening. The fabric will not catch on the raw edge of the rod and it is super fast slip on especially for lace curtains. Then just put the rod back together and hang.
