Peace Painting Co., Inc. on Apr 02, 2012I thought Atlanta was the only place. At least your new outlet should hold up. Think about pre-fab next (-; CPHelpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Apr 03, 2012A number of years ago I visited my aunt in Texas...she was showing me her whole house fan. As I looked up in to the attic I noticed slats of wood that the shingles were attached to...no sheathing on walls is pretty crazy...but no sheathing on a roof is even worse. I guess I'm one of those that feel homes should be built as soundly and securely as possible. Where I live we have 110 mph wind code and 55 psf snow load.Helpful Reply

Pam on Apr 20, 2012Clay, I live in Louisiana and we get more than our share of hurricanes as you know. My condo was also built in 1986 and the construction you have is the exact same as mine. So far we have withstood many hurricanes and very high winds during thunder storms (at least 65 mph). My condo is still standing even though I would like more walls between me and the elements. I would love to cover with Hardiplank. It is definitely the new wonder here in the South especially in S.LA where my family reside. It offer so much moref strength and insulation from the elements. When I move back home, down south as we say, I will use Hardiplank on my house.Helpful Reply
