Quick Repurposed Clock Project
I've been seeing all these amazing projects where a regular item is repurposed into something new and decided I wanted to try it. I finally found what I was looking for when I was given a clock that screamed 80s (not that the 80s weren't great...don't get me wrong.

Enter the clock. I gutted out the inside, which wasn't hard to do at all. After a quick sanding, I gave it a few coats of DIY chalk paint in white and added a little dry brushing in a stone gray.
While that was drying, I found a phrase I liked and added a few embellishments in a photo editing program. I printed that out on the vellum paper to a size that would fit the clock window.
The dry brushing helps bring out the detail of the curves.
I stuffed the lights in the back and this is what it looks like all lit up...
The glass is positioned behind the vellum paper for support. This allowed me to avoid securing the vellum to the glass with adhesive so I can change out the quote with something different down the road.
