Zoysia plugs transplanting

3po3 on Apr 05, 2012I suggest getting a soil test through your cooperative extension office. Here's the info: http://www.caes.uga.edu/publications/pubDetail.cfm?pk_id=7440 They typically have a form where you can indicate what you will plant in the soil, and they can offer a detailed analysis and explain how to amend the soil to optimize it for your zoysia plugs.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Apr 06, 2012Yes, you should get a soil test as Steve recommends. Make sure you put the zoysia plugs no farther apart than six inches as they are slow to spread and you will be battling weeds until they do.Helpful Reply

Mark D on Apr 06, 2012Steve and Douglas Thank you for your input. I do need to have it analyzed. My situation fortunately, is a simpler one in that my Zoysia is growing well, but a few areas of about 3x6 inches are very weak. It could be from poor initial care. So I plan to transplant from some stronger growing areas, paying attention to better care, including maybe a little use of miracle grow, etc.Helpful Reply
