What is the best way to use decorative wood from an armoire top?

I would like to make a top window treatment from a decorative rail top from an old armoire.

Unsure of what your rail looks like, I assume that you may have to build a box/cornice as part of the treatment. You could create a fabric covered one with the wood piece as accent. Not having a picture of what you have, it is hard to figure what could be done. Do you have only one window?

You are talking about a crown. I make them for a coat hanger, coffee hangers ect. They are so beautiful they stand out.
