KMS Woodworks on Apr 19, 2012basic paint is probable the least durable option...if it were me I would go with tile for any interior type space...and staining or commercial grade epoxy for a garage type space.Helpful Reply

Billie O on Apr 19, 2012I had to pull up my carpets because of the smell from dogs , I would love to do stained concreted but I just can not afford it anytime soon , I would probably just do tile if I had any clue on how , Im scared ill mess it up and have wasted the money on the tile and still have to hire someone to come in to fix it I was thinking if I could do the paint and polyeurathane for now I could have it tiled in about a year or so when i can afford it. I love diy stuff but I just dont have the knowledge I need for most of it , I just figured if I could do the spray paint there would be a lot of color choices and it would be something easy and cheap for now. Burco Surface & Decor LLC. on Apr 19, 2012Billie staining your concrete floors would be cheaper than using tile.... at least from a DIY stand point. Get on you tube and start googling how to stain concrete and you will get more videos and information than you know what to do with. Once you feel like you have the concept, go to home depot and buy some concrete and make a few samples to test your ideas on. After reading and practicing you should be able to stain your floors well enough that your proud of them. Worst case scenario you just tile over it if you dont like how the stained floors look.Helpful Reply

Billie O on Apr 19, 2012I have looked into it multiple times on youtube and articles it sounds fairly easy but everyone I have spoke to said its not that easy because you have to get the prep work done really good or it wont turn out right, so I dunno maybe ill look into it a little more, thanks for your advice :)Helpful Reply

Peace Painting Co., Inc. on Apr 19, 2012Billie, it's not so complicated when staining an interior surface that does not have to stand up to weather, automobiles, etc. I don't think you have to spray it. Just damp mop the floors and roll down some solid color concrete stain or porch and floor paint. You can also easily roll down a clear concrete sealer, two coats ofcourse. Best, CharlesHelpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Apr 20, 2012Phyllis...a beadroom is about the only place in a home were cork should be considered. It is not nearly as durable as other floor coverings and can be damaged quite easily by moisture...not huge floods due to spills but even aggressive damp mopping can compromise it. At most a swiffer type thing is all you should use.Helpful Reply
