Unique hanging magazine rack

If there is one thing I love to do, it is to re-purpose vintage "junk" into a treasure.....For example, I came across an old iron crib and turned one of the side rails into a hanging magazine rack. I plan to eventually hang the other rail horizontally from the ceiling and turn it into a pot rack....To view additional photos, you can see them here: http://serendipitychicdesign.blogspot.com/20...

Very nice Lisa. With the new safety rules, so many cribs no longer "meet code" so to speak, so they can't be resold. It's a shame to see them in landfills, so I love seeing creative ideas like this. Also, as a freelance writer, I am really excited to see somebody still reading magazines.

This would be a neat Idea for a coffee shop that has a number of magazines available for customers...in our home it would be pretty empty as we only subscribe to one magazine.

Hi Lisa - I'm the one who questioned the shutter rack. Now I see your website. It's wonderful!!! Love it all.

You're very clever. I also like to repurpose things and make them, unique.

Very clever. Reminds me of the racks for newspapers they used to have at the library back in the days when people read actual newspapers.

Cool. The only thing I would have done is seal it with clear poly in case the paint was lead based.

@Douglas...I remember those too...they used a fluted and segmented dowel rod that fit in a stepped rack. The wood working was unique and functional. Personally I have not subscribed to a newspaper in over 10 years. If any serious new is out there I can look it up online...for weather I look out the window.

I love this. How old is it? Be sure your chippy paint doesn't contain lead. Just sayin'
