Douglas Hunt on Apr 22, 2012I'm not sure what you mean by non-toxic, Sheri. One of my garden mentors wrote the book (literally) on backyard ecology and she used Roundup. I think it would take a horticultural grade of vinegar for that to be effective and I wonder if anyone has tried to determine what the long-term effects of its use might be. You might want to invest in a weed torch. A patio is the perfect situation to use one.Helpful Reply

3po3 on Apr 22, 2012Boiling water works great for that type of job. Quicker than vinegar if you have whole rows to kill, though it does add some time to boil the water (also keep in mind that boiling water in the microwave uses less energy and time).Helpful Reply
