My first thought was, "I don't want to touch it", when my Aunt Connie brought me this old beater chair. I actually wore a mask and gloves and just dove in a ripped it apart. I removed the springs from the seat. Now the worst was over and I could see the frame.
After a good cleaning, removing upholstery tacks and sanding, I added a plank board back. Then it got a white worn paint finish.
Then after cutting a new plywood seat, I added a foam pad and upholstery.
To top it off, I made a little pillow with a "home" calligraphy sentiment. Cozy.

What a work in progress!
