Sheepskin

I have a sheepskin throw that I've owned for about 10 years. While spring cleaning, I decided it needed to be cleaned. I called a couple of local dry cleaners knowing they would send it out to be laundered as a specialy product but was astonished when I was told it would cost me $159. to have it cleaned. Thank goodness for Google. I took the sheepskin down to the laundrymat along with $5.00 worth of quarters, a cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup distilled vinegar. Turned the washer on cold, added the baking soda for detergent and the vinegar for fabric softener. After removing from the washer, I brushed with a stiff brush, brought it home and continued brushing it while it dried, off and on during the afternoon. Now it is clean, really soft and smells so fresh...and I saved a ton of money. Thank you Google.

wow.. awesome tip. we finally broke down and bought the front load ex large washer and dryer the washer has a sanitize setting and the dryer has a steam setting. i ask you who needs to iron? but on the baking soda and vinegar if you Google how to make your own detergents and fabric softeners those are 2 of the main ingredients. i am learning a lot of things i didn't know and trying new things having a blast doing it as well.

use vinegar to set dark colors into new clothing at first wash .For black jeans and pants the vinegar sets the color in better so they dont go grey as bad and for help in stopping reds from bleeding. I
