The perfect farm table done my way.
When this Gal asked me to redo this 4 foot x 4 foot dining table into something her husband (a cattle farmer) would love. I did this !
BEFORE
A lot of sanding is how this project started. I love this palm sander .
PRIMING
After sanding we removed the legs and added two coats of primer sanding in between coats to achieve a smooth surface for painting.
Sketching the design on was so fun. Keep in mind the client still has no clue what design I came up with. After I was happy with the layout I painted the background.
This is where this little guy starts to come to life. What a fun project!
After this piece was complete I added several layers Polyurethane which need to be dried and sanded in between coats to achieve a smooth surface. The poly also really brings out the details. Oil based Polyurethane is much more durable than water base, so I always use it on flat surfaces.
Yep this Guy loves his perfect Farm Table ..

This is fabulous!!!! I have a question about the yellow on the first part of his face... why? Was it to keep the real background from blending in to the cow since you would be covering it anyway with other paint? or is it needed for the background of the colors going on top to give it depth? Just curious... I don't use paints much, just stain, but I like to learn....
