Pallet Wood Flag

I'm sure by now most of you have seen the pallet wood U.S. flags. But I haven't seen many Canadian flags. So in honour of Canada Day, I made this flag out of some old pallet wood we had lying around.
Started by dividing the boards into 1/4s and painting red over the outer two 1/4, leaving a white middle. A simple maple leaf image enlarged and traced onto the white painted wood.
Heavily distressed and dark waxed for some patina, this flag is perfect to celebrate Canada Day. Gave one to some friends who hang it on their boat house facing the lake to show their Canadian pride to passing boats.

I like it! And I really like the fact when people are proud of their country!

Have wanted to do this for years. Actually started one this year - finally - on an old piece of plywood.

Happy Canada Day, fellow country women and men & Happy 4th of July to our American friends too. One continent-united.
