James A on Feb 22, 2011If they're 60 and in good shape, might want to refinish them and keep them. I know I'm almost 60, in OK shape, and in need of a little refinishing. Hope they keep me around.Helpful Reply

Stephen B on Feb 22, 2011You are funny James! Lois, If you take James' advice and refinish them, they probably have spar varnish on them (if the finish is original) If you are doing this yourself, it could be quite a job removing the existing finish without the proper machinery. Might want to get some estimates from refinishers.Helpful Reply

Sean W on Feb 22, 2011Preserve them, these well seasoned floors (if hard woods) will refinish very nicely and have awesome character.Helpful Reply

Allison B on Feb 22, 2011If you are looking for ideas on upkeep, polishing and sealing/waxing the floors will keep them looking great. If they need sanding first, another great thing is that they should withstand this (unlike a lot of flooring they install nowadays) and will look like new. I would love to see some pics!Helpful Reply
