3po3 on Mar 09, 2011Absolutely. Also, to ensure maximum energy savings, find an installer who properly and COMPLETELY seals the windows. Don't necessarily go for the lowest bid. Again, you will make back the investment in energy bill savings. I have seen energy audit results where a drafty window frame was leaking so much air that the window might as well have been left open.

Elena on Oct 08, 2015Yes, true, windows and doors have a huge say in our households' energy efficiency and the right ones can help shave some money off utilities bills. Since a window’s efficiency depends on its components, meaning the frame and the glass panel, some are more effective than others. I found an article which explains in depth what kind of windows are more efficient in terms of energy: http://blogs.fin24.com/newsblog/2015/10/05/make-your-home-more-energy-efficient-with-replacement-windows/
