My husband cut my planter in half & added a frame to stabilize it. It has a cloth back that drains well.

I made mine with a clear vinyl shoe holder and punched holes in the bottom of each pocket. It works great and looks great. Easy to maintain too.

I thought these were great ideas too but I don't know Sara E what keeps it from tipping there must be some stabilization on the interior of the books or it could be the way that they are stacked gives them stabilization.

If you have a fence, almost anything can be used as planters. I have seen painted larger coffee cans. Punch holes in bottom at front to drain and screw to fence through hole punched at top of opposite side. This way the overflow will not drain ont the fence. Smaller cans can be placed in between for smaller plants or a touch of hanging vine! Unlimited. Wire around glass jars make planters.

Now THAT is cool. Are the books laminated together? How does one do the desk to keep all those books together. I would love to do that

I didn't make this but saw it on Pinterest and thought it looked like a cool idea to pass on. I would venture to guess that there was some sort of lamination to keep them all together along with a possible frame work of some sort to prevent them form falling but they do appear to be stacked in a way to overlap and create a sort of frame work within. Sorry I can't give you a more concrete answer,
