my son's kitchen caught fire, is there anything I can add to the laundry to cut the smell of smoke on his clothes

    Try adding a couple cups of vinegar and maybe a box of baking soda to the wash load. Each of these help neutralize odors. Let me know if this helps.

    Also professional cleaning also should be done when ever possible. Your insurance hopefully you have this, should cover the costs involved with your issues. ...»

    We too had a kitchen fire a few years ago, After some battle with my insurance company, they professionally cleaned all our bed linens, curtains, all the rugs were torn out and replaced due to smoke, all oil paintings professionally cleaned etc. Stick to your guns on this and get them to pay for this work to be done.

    My suggestion was going to be baking soda too, it's inexpensive and wont damage his clothes, Then throw in a good ole dryer sheet to sweeten things up:)

    I know of a great product called "Oder Mute". It is the very best product to get rid of any oder.. From skunk to smoke. You can find it on line www.odermute.com it works on everything. Really.
