This Was an AHA Moment Sign! Endless Possibilities.

I got together with readers online and we made raised lettered signs. One of the signs was made using hot glue for the raised letters. At the end of the workshop, I had an AHA moment. I wiped over one of the signs before the paint was completely dry....and AHA!
First, you need a piece of wood that's painted. I used this scrap piece to shown how different type of crackle medium "cracks." Then tossed it back in the scrap pile. Now it's going to be my summer sign. If you look closely you can see "summer" written with a pencil. Oh, one end of the board was only painted white.
I fired up the glue gun and where the red and white paint meet I put a big dollop of hot glue.
Then using the hot glue I made a flower. Half on the red and half on the white.
Just next to the pencil lines, I wrote summer using more hot glue.
Next, I painted over everything with turquoise chalked based paint.
When the chalked paint dried I used a damp rag to "sand" over the raised areas. The paint under the hot glue is revealed through the hot glue! Half the flower is white and the other half red. Pretty cool, right.
Suggested materials:
