I like Ed's idea, but maybe take it a step further. How about an anticle where you do a high-end look on a budget by shopping at places like Habitat for Humanity Restore, garage sales, auctions, Craig's List, etc. We've done our house that way and always have questions from folks about how to do it, and where to find the bargains.
Not an Atlanta perspective, but most remodeling mags I have seen focus on high-end projects and big homes. More tips and help for small spaces would be great to see. Also, I would love to see an article on incorporating LEDs without breaking the bank. LEDs are the way of the future. They will someday replace CFLs, but they are mostly too expensive right now.
I haven't seen this magazine before - is it new? Where's it sold? I'm new to the area and would like to see an article that would direct me to sources of recycled/salvaged building products. I've found a Habitat ReStore and have passed the salvage place on Piedmont Road (unfortunately not when they've been open). I'm sure there's more; I just don't know where to look and Google searches haven't been much help.
I kind of in Steve's camp....and I am in the process of downsizing. I've been in my current home for 20 years and it has more stuff in it than I need. We purchased some vacant land in Northern New Mexico and I have started a small 200 sq ft cabin. Our longer term plan is to relocate there and build a slightly bigger place...something in the 1200 sq range. During that build we would be living in the small cabin.

I am sharing the same thoughts as many folks as bigger is not always better.
I always pick one at floor and decor store and love to check all over, and have many of them at my office table for customer who are waiting. I think if you add some very small paragraph about on going projects and dificulties of finding trusted contractors. and home talk is right place to find your home owners and contractors who are involving those projects.
Great responses! Thank you, Designing Home, for putting the magazines out at your office. If you have any projects we might be able to spotlight, send to editor@homeimprovementmag.com.
to search for a pickup l location nearest you. Thanks for your idea on the salvage/recycled piece. I was thinking about that too. Check out the Lifecycle Building Center in Atlanta which resells building products. You might also check around Decatur and West Midtown for architectural salvage.
Atlanta Salvage as well. Hey Kali, I have 2 ideas: One, how to create an exercise room in a small space & the other is non invasive decorating ideas when you are a renter. Like, decals instead of pictures & window wallpaper on bath windows, etc.
