The perfect combination; silvery weathered roots and gnarled driftwood, planted very cleverly with Sempervivum and Sedum add a really rustic country ambiance to a junk garden like mine. Besides, they're fun.
After the spring freshet has finished and the rivers water level drops, you can glean all kinds of interesting pieces from the sandbars...

      @Drought Smart Plants Will require a trip to a beach but sounds like a good plan to me!

    Going to the beach is always a good idea. I don't have access to the ocean or large lake, but I can go to the two rivers nearby. Maybe a road trip is in our future!
