How to properly clean polished concrete floors without damaging the finish?

3po3 on Mar 27, 2011You should only need to sweep, then mop with basic dish soap. Avoid anything acidic or abrasive, as well as anything with bleach.Helpful Reply

Brent B on Mar 29, 2011Mopping with a light solution of dishsoap and warm water is a sure way to maintain your finish and clean up any grime.Helpful Reply

Ingrid on Mar 29, 2011Thanks for the replies. My contractor said that too, but I wanted to double check because he was very vague and hesitated when I asked. I swiffer and vacuum daily and found a neutral cleaner for mopping, but wanted to be sure I was doing the right thing. Leigh: it is great to guard against hardwoods buckling if there are any water leaks and also great for pets - we have two dogs. It should last a long time.Helpful Reply

Amazing Improvements and Garages on Apr 01, 2011Neutral cleaners.. ! 3000 Grit is really a high polish standard. Most are polishing to 400 or 800., the sealers can provide the illusion of 3000 grit. The floor in my profile pic was an 800 grit floor sealed with penetrating sealers.Helpful Reply

Ingrid on Apr 14, 2011Yeah, but I insisted on the 3000, so that's what they did. I didn't want any sealers to deal with, except the penetrating one that can be applied every 4-5 years. That floor looks great BTW.Helpful Reply

Ingrid on Apr 15, 2011But, it's a dry piece of cloth. What causes cloth to be an issue? Just curious, never heard that before. It's only a penetrating sealer.Helpful Reply

Itsreally C on Apr 16, 2011no, its a treated product,,, why not use a regular dust mop ? save $ & be more environmentally responsible at the same time,,, swiffers are throwaway whereas a dust mop is ' greener ',,, swiffers are treated products never recommended on any sealed conc,,, i don't know if this also applies to polyaspartic sealers.Helpful Reply

Ingrid on Apr 16, 2011I didn't know they were treated. Thanks for the info.Helpful Reply
