Bamboo Birdhouse

Once again, my son-in-law, Bobby, had his creative juices flowing and created this birdhouse from a large piece of bamboo he found on the beach in Port Aransas. When he discovered the bamboo, he said he immediately thought of me and decided to create this birdhouse for my back yard. He used twigs for the perches and found a piece of tree bark to use as a roof. After constructing the birdhouse, he finished it with several coats of lacquer. I hung it on the patio under the roof overhang so that I can view it often and to insure that it will last for several years. Last spring, a family of swallows took up residence in the house but there were no lessees this year. What are some ways to encourage birds to use the house next spring?

I love it! have you tried to change it's location, such as moving it out in your yard somewhere?
