Before and After: A Stenciled Garage Entryway

Make the first impression of your home count by creating a beautifully decorated entryway that exudes personality and style. Wall stencils can help you easily transform any space in your home. Our interlocking wallpaper stencils make it easy and affordable to create the look of designer wallpaper on an accent wall. Today we are sharing a stenciled garage entryway featuring a fabulous stencil design.
We'd like to introduce Judy, the creative DIYer and design enthusiast behind the blog Pursuit of Functional Home. Judy and her family moved into a house in Singapore and she's been working to make it a home with one DIY project at a time. On that list was her small garage. Here is what the space looked like before its makeover...
Judy had a blank canvas that was full of possibilities. Because the space was so small, they did not park their car in the garage but the family did use it as a point of entry to their home. She wanted the space to be filled with positive energy since it was the first impression of her home. Judy was happy to discover Cutting Edge Stencils while searching for DIY decorating ideas. A stenciled wall pattern is an easy and cost effective way to add visual interest to a room. She browsed our large collection of Moroccan Stencils and fell in love with the Marrakech Trellis Allover Stencil, a trendy trellis wall pattern.
The first thing Judy did was paint a wall in her garage yellow. She said, "Why yellow? It’s because I feel happy and energized when I see yellow." With her walls painted and her design in hand, she was ready to start stenciling. She used painters tape to hold the stencil in place on the wall. Then she poured her white paint into a small tray and painted with a dense foam roller. After each section was painted, Judy would carefully un-tape the stencil and reposition. She did this until her entire accent wall was stenciled.
Once the stencil was complete, Judy purchased some shoe cabinets to help organize the space and a white bench for seating. She decorated the space with simple items, like an indoor water fountain, to enhance her feng shui. Let's take a look at how this creative garage makeover turned out.
Judy had this to say about her project, "The Marrakech Trellis Pattern creates a wonderful touch and actually added depth to this area." We love the cheerful yellow and white color combination paired with this Moroccan stencil pattern.
