Mary Insana on Sep 08, 2013A picture would help but it also depends on how daring or brave you are. You may want to do something bold like a rich burnt orange to offset the dark shutters and showcase the cream siding. A turquoise or teal would look very nice too. I love the color green and our door is a medium sage green. Our vinyl siding is a natural wood grain color and texture with white shutters. I like the contrast of the green. If you go with a green go to a darker sage green and stay away from the hunter green family.Helpful Reply

Gloria Duy on Sep 10, 2013I always like to think about my favorite flowers I will be planting. I like lots of pink so I went with a sage green as an orange or red door would clash with my flowers. What color flowers do you like?Helpful Reply

Cheryl @ Artzzle on Sep 10, 2013I agree with Mary I's burnt orange suggestion. I too have cream siding, but with mid-tone gold on shutters AND door ( if I say "mustard gold" it's not the yellow but the brownish mustard LOL) I know reds or certain browns could have undertones that would make my siding look pinkish. That could happen with a green in a true grass green too, and could be too bright. But the right orange wouldn't do that and would look great with your dark brown shutters (and my gold ones :). Try visiting www.HOUZZ.com and search for exterior shots or that color combination. That's what I've been doing. Let everyone know what you decide.Helpful Reply

Sue mease on Sep 10, 2013I used Behr paint color Folklore and just love it. Otherwise as a brighter color I would go with a lime green (just not too bright)Helpful Reply

Carol Banks on Sep 12, 2013@Gloria Duy Good suggestion. I also have a bench on the front porch which I think would look good in a sage green to match the door. I have pink climbing roses in the front and a deep red dahlias.Helpful Reply
