Taylor, Go to your free-of-charge library and check out books under DIY, home remodeling/ renovating, interior decoration, Home Depot/Lowe's/ Creative Homeowners/Black & Decker/HGTV....Each one will refer to other appropriate titles. Look them over, find a couple you really like and buy your own copies. Subscribe to Family Handyman-DON"T do anything before you've lived in it for several months (except intensive cleaning so you can assess what's truly unacceptable and what's just unacceptably dingy - for now-) Very best luck, You're going to be so gratified as you personalize and improve your own home.
