Re-purposed Cabinet Into Kitchen Island

I found this cabinet at a re-store, the top was Italian marble. I decided it would make a great island for my kitchen
The front was in good shape just needed a little touch up.
The back was made to be against a wall.
Added some vaneer and support blocks. I painted them to match the cabinet color.
The top is 16" x 61", rounded the corners, stained and polyurethaned.
The top is attached with 6 brackets (3) on each side of the blocks.
The completed project.
Suggested materials:
  • Used cabinet
  • Vaneer
  • 3 blocks

    Those support blocks are expensive!

I bought them from Home Depot. That was a while ago so everything was cheaper. Still in all I got exactly what I wanted for my house and it was much cheaper and larger than if I bought it ready made.
