Upcycled Shutter Organizer

Using a curbside find of a window shutter, I created a great organizer/jewellery organizer for my daughter's room. This was an inexpensive project that is not only practical, but is also pretty!
The end result is a clever way to display pictures, notes, and jewellery.
I found this collection on the side of the road. Who would think this is junk!!?
The girls prepped the piece (they're my cheap labour).
I used a tester pot of paint to paint the piece.
Then, my favourite fella - the belt sander - did a little bit of distressing to the piece.
I drilled four holes along the bottom of the shutter and added these pretty little knobs.
The last step is to hang and organize! Pictures and memories are easily slid into the slats of the shutter.
The knobs showcase jewellery (as well as keep it from being a huge mess in a bin or box).
