Cabinets
-
Shari on Oct 20, 2013There is no simple answer. What one person considers "good," another person may find completely unappealing. In my opinion, there are multiple factors that should be considered that only you can make. Are you planning to paint the existing cabinets, or replace them? Are you planning to live there indefinitely, or are you considering resale soon? What style of decorating do you like--cottage, ultra modern, or something in between? What colors do you like to decorate with--light, airy colors, or dark and moody colors? With that being said, I don't think you can ever go wrong with white cabinets. Unlike wood tones that are popular for a while but can quickly look dated, white cabinets have never really gone out of style but they are super hot right now. White cabinets also work well with a wide variety of decorating styles and colors. However, if you prefer dark colors and the rest of your townhouse is decorated that way, white cabinets may be too stark for you. If you are planning to live there for a while and don't need to worry about resale anytime soon, use the internet or kitchen redecorating magazines to determine what YOU like and most of all, what will make you happy every time you walk into your kitchen.Helpful Reply
