Have cloudy vases? This is a super easy clean. Cost $1.00.
Dried on scummy crud in bottom of vase.
Another view of crud.
Pour some ammonia and water into the vase. Cover opening with a piece of plastic wrap. Let sit overnight. Dump down the drain and rinse out in the morning.
I did not washing out the vase with any brush, rag, sponge, etc. I just rinsed it out and it was sparkling clean.
Another view of how clean the vase turned out. Yeah, ammonia is stinky put your not going to breathe much of it. Remember to cover the top of the vase after adding the ammonia. Much better results than with vinegar. Now, I can try the nail polish painting technique of these very clean, basic vases.
Suggested materials:
  • Ammonia, cheap   (Walmart)
  • Cheap plastic wrap   (Walmart)

I was so happy this worked because some of the vases are so narrow you can't get anything down inside to try to scrub the scum off -- and you worry that you are going to scratch the glass if you do. This was so simple - just rinse it out. Boom! Clean.
