I pick up stuff all the time, knowing someday the mood will hit me to make something fun with it. Point in case, the $3 Target fake wood circle board.
It is plain, dull and had a Xmas tree on it. So I sanded the tree off, painted over the top, put a stencil on top and painted. Just because it had a Xmas look, doesn't mean it has to be Christmasy...
Instead it became dainty and pretty and my three dollars never looked so good.
