Wood Locker Makeover....From Trash To Little Boy's Treasure

A friend bought a wood locker/cabinet from a flea market and it didn't work in her space. Thankfully she asked me if I was interested in the piece. I jumped at the chance and got started right away.
It was in need of a lot of cleaning, sanding and repairs. i'd been researching different paint lines on the market so this was a great time to try some of my new paint. I started off the project with CeCe Caldwell's Omaha Ochre, then used Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan in Old White on the outside. For the inside I continued with the Omaha Ochre then added on a couple coats of Chalk Paint™ in French Linen.
To finish of the outside of the cabinet and the door, I tried American Paint Company Born on the 4th. This is an incredible navy blue! It went on like a dream and I highly recommend it. For the door I used Frog Tape and taped off stripes before adding on the Born on the 4th. I added a number 3, my Son's favorite number, to the door and distressed and waxed the entire cabinet.
Both my Son and I are thrilled with how this old, worn out piece of furniture has been transformed into something he can use every day. He loves it!

I had one & the label inside said something about boat. It was used on a boat. Mine was full of shelves & door had 3 panels. I wood burned roses & koloa on each panel. I had it from 1968 to 2007 & moved & lost it. It worked great for craft paint. I striped the paint on outside & left it natural & inside different colors. First time to see one since I had mine.
