How To Remove Wax Stain From Table Cloth

We are now in the season of celebrations and in a time when we often get together with our family and loved ones. I hope your December is filled with lots of warmth, love and romance! Quite often when we arrange the table we use candles to create a cozy and romantic feeling all over the dinning room.
Personally I love candles on the table even if it is not always a holiday season. I just love the mood and the scent. What I don't appreciate is having wax stains on my tablecloths. Here are some of the tips I learned. Most of them from experience, some of them from a friend who works as a professional cleaner and others from my mom and Pinterest. Either way these are tested and have always worked for me.
1. When you spill wax on your tablecloth make sure you wait until the wax hardens. The harder it is, the easier for you will be to scrape and remove the stain. You can take the stain cloth and take it outside, put it in the freezer (I know it is a bit extreme, but it helps), or, alternatively, you can use the cold regime on your hairdryer and speed up the process.
2. After the wax is cold and hardened, scrape off as much as you can.
3. Now it is time to spot treat the area, by ironing what is left of the wax. Put some scrap papers on your ironing board just beneath the stain. Turn the cloth with the stain upside down and iron. You will notice oily stains on the papers. Change the scrap paper pieces as much as you need until you spot no more oily marks on them. Finally you can wash your cloth in some detergent by treating carefully the wax stained area. There are two ways to do that (consult article).
4. Launder as usual, but do not tumble dry. You have to check on the cloth after you have laundered it. You may have some wax left.
