A Dining Room Makeover Surprise For Mom

My mom's house was built in the 1980's and much hasn't changed inside since it was built. In addition, my mom's furniture is a collection of hand-me-downs. The medium brown molding makes the space look dark and the added fact that her house also does not get any natural sunlight doesn't help. A combination of this makes for a space that is much needed for makeover.
The main thing I knew that needed to be done was to lighten up the space. This was easily achieved with paint. I chose I nice neutral color for wall and a crisp white color for the all the trim, included the handrail that divides the dining room from the living room....and wow, what a difference!
I updated this space by adding a neutral color to the walls, painting the trim, staining the table, adding a rug and beautiful curtains, and two beautiful chairs!

The Dining Room space before the makeover. It is outdated and much needed for a makeover!
My mom absolutely loves the room! She loves the white trim and said "We need to paint the other rails too!" This pic was take when she saw the space at 7AM & isn't the most "blog ready" but I love how it captures her taking it all in.
