I am so sorry I don't have pictures to share, but I had the same dilemma last summer. If you are willing to part with the internal parts it can make a great faux fireplace. Mine was already empty so I painted the interior black (I also had to put a bottom in it for the "logs" to sit on) in a flat black. I painted the exterior in a cream color. You can either put candles, logs or as I did an electric set of logs. Mine was for a friend that moved from her home into an apartment and just didn't feel she could get that "homey" feeling. This did it and it as very easy. Best of luck with what ever you decide to do.

Wow! What a great idea you had. You could place a mirror in the back. It would reflect the candles or electric logs.

Makes a great bedroom for a dog, a hide a way!! Take all internal parts out, paint or wall paper, hang a couple of small pictures on the back wall, add a dog mattress or bed. If you want, add a gate on the front. It can sit in your LR and use as an end table. When my Tippi was still with me, she would have loved this idea, she liked to hide under a table when napping.

Another idea is to repurpose it into a bookshelf. Display glass items or make into a bar cart.

My son gutted his and put an aquarium inside. The kids love to watch the fish since now they are on their level and with the top they can't put their hands inside.

i HAve my sisters bi-centennial 1976 Magnovox. She had a friend put a shelf in it and I keep my baking pans and tins it. Originally it came decoratively painted and it is a beautiful piece of furniture.
