Not a moose border fan...not a wallpaper fan actually, there are so many other techniques one can do. Just bought and moved in,this is an older home, with older people,so it needs a bit of updating among other things. This was very easy actually. I pulled as much as I could, then sprayed with vinegar and water..sometimes I had to scrape a little to get water under the paper...A VERY SATISFYING mini project!
tada...very masculine!
First strip to see how difficult this might be. Hmmm not very difficult at all. Excitement building! Woohoo!
Last strip...bye bye Moosie!
Awwwwwww ....yaayyy!
tada! All gone! Not hard at all. I know some papers would be difficult, thankfully, this wasn't. However I have 3 more rooms of borders to do. Ceiling high. Hopefully they will be just as easy tho they will be more time consuming considering they are ceiling high and bedrooms. But this feels good! Bathroom is very small so am very 🤷‍♀️ undecided as to what I should do. If anything.

  • Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try this if I ever have to remove a border.

Yup...try this first..or as I understand..water and fabric softener..I just didn't have any plus I didn't want to wash it off if I didn't have to. I just sprayed again and wiped dry with dry cloth.

Whew - one down and a few more to go!! Good job there Bernice!! You do know there's a small roller tool that has teeth so you can score the wall paper, right? If any of the remaining border is vinyl, scoring before you start applying the spray mixture will allow for more thorough penetration. I have a family room that I papered below the chair rail. It is in desperate need of coming off. I just don't have the nerve to tackle it. Good luck, looks like there's no shortage of projects!!

Thanks Susan....hah on me. I thought I was buying the toolthen for the same price I saw what I thought was a scorer and scraper..so I bought it. We tried and tried to figure how to make that scraper...score...finally I had nathan google it..turns out it was only the scraper...then I LOOKED ON THE PACKAGE, ! Hah...scraper....banging dum dum head here! I didn't need it,but I am going to get one because I probably will. The outer part of the wall paper came off very easily, and the inner part after soaking with vinegar water..came off easily too. Now if th ceiling borders come off that easily..I will be a happy camper...bye bye moosiedeerbear border. Do you have any friends with aggressions that need exorcising...promise them wine and a chance to whine....and have a rip roaring party! How fun that would be!
