I have covered an ugly lamp with decorative paper and now have a lovely lamp.
I made an inexpensive picture frame using and fabric. Our craft class painted 8x10 creations in acrylics. I took a 14" square of styrofoam (mine came from packaging that I cut to size) and used ModPodge to adhere the fabric (allow about 3" more than the size styrofoam to cover sides). After my
"frame" dried, I glued the painting to the frame. Lightweight wall decor that can be used with any type of wall art. Hang with a Command strip and voila!
Created an inspiration plate for my beautiful Granddaughter
Hi there! We love using Mod Podge! Check out our original blog posts below:
I hope you're feeling inspired!! Can't wait to see what you do!
Thank you, Naomie. Because I'm kind of "laid up" right now, my very sweet husband bought a bunch of gel pens and "Color Your Own Stickers Inspirations (Just color, peel & stick!)" for me for Christmas. (Hobby Lobby, I think) At first I thought he was just messin' with me - "Adult" coloring books, REALLY! But I found out that I really enjoyed it...very relaxing! So I colored a bunch of different designs & sayings, picked the ones I liked best, peeled them off and stuck them to a plain white dinner plate (Corning Ware). Once they were placed and stuck where I wanted them, I took a permanent marker and wrote on the plate before sealing everything with Mod Podge...in this case, Glossy. It was so easy and such a lot of fun!
I used the regular Matte Modge Podge to adhere some fabric on the inside of my pantry doors just to give them a pop of color! It came out great~I love that stuff! In fact, my 21 year old son didn't know what to get me for Christmas, so he got me a random mix of craft supplies and told my daughter, "I have no idea what Modge Podge is, but I know Mom uses it." lol
I'm playing with the idea of using beautiful paper or fabric to do an old bookshelf I plan on using for an indoor herb garden with grow lights. Can't decide if I'm more excited to grow actual food or do this bookcase, lol!
I restyle hard back books to look like vintage editions. I'm always on the lookout for cool paper to Mod Podge on the covers. Plus I can decorate with them and I don't have to get rid of my books!
Thank you, Liz. Here's the Hometalk post about this project with a link to my blog post. Almost all of my hardback books look like antiques now, I've kind of gone nuts with this project.

Restyle Your Books Into Beautiful Decor
I've used Mod Podge to apply papers to insides of drawers, shelves and on table tops such as this one that I just posted over in the Projects section: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/bedroom/furniture/french-drum-style-table-27861480
After our fun day at Hometalk headquarters in NYC and Stacy's inspiration, I started reading about doing more and more things with this decoupage medium. I am now working on something else. I love it!
French Drum-style Table
When I was younge, I used to all kinds of crafts especially as gifts at Christmas. One thing that I loved was a picture for my brother. He was a high school science teacher.
I had a beautiful picture of an owl, it was big enough for a large frame.
I prepared a piece of wood (10 by 11). Sanding then putting stain, then I get some foil. The kind you use in the kitchen, I wrinkle it and put it haphazard on the board., I use the Mod Podge to glue the foil. I then sand the foil and pieces will come off in places but it is smoot. My owl is now ready( I had already completly cut away the 🦉 from the surrounding paper. )
Use the Mod Podge to glue the owl to my board and let it dry completely and then sand it all around the edges. I also used some stain to make it look older and the color more uniform. Let dry completely over night and then use the Mod Podge over all and let dry.
I used this same process on other pictures with the foil but theywere stolen.
I love to convert all those flower shop clear glass vases into special pieces using mod podge to decoupage them. I mod podge napkins face down on the vases so the pretty side shows through on the inside of the vase and the vase can still be used for flower arrangements. Then I gold leaf over the napkin, and decoupage the cutouts from magazines, etc., over the gold leaf.
Thank you. Fun to do.
Thank you...something out of nothing...lol.
I love Mod Podge and have used in on various projects...
I would love to show you but I am really technology challenged, can't post pictures!!! Wish I could share.
