No I just planted them yesterday March 8th
A winter a storm is working its way across the continent. You might want to cover them at night with Styrofoam or heavy cardboard
Paper bag them for the night or even take them up and inside for a week or so.
Thank You Janet
Pansies are tough but cover them next time wait until April
Yes thank you will remember from nlow on 😀
They should be just fine! Pansy's are very hardy and can survive the cold! For what it's worth Pansy's are my very favorite flower of them all!!❤
Thank you for words of hope, I even purchased thick plastic covers to cover them as the weather people talking about NorthEastern coming to us on Tuesday, will keep alert about the storm but as of today, they are doing just fine, thanks again for words of wisdom regarding pensies yes I love them too 😀
We have been planting Pansy's for almost 90 yrs. We plant them in the fall after the Vinca are done. They last from Oct. thru June depending on how hot it gets. I plant taller flowers around them in May to cast a shadow on them as they dont like direct sun or the heat and humidity we have along the Jersey Shore.
So cute I was able to built tents for them against Tuesday snow storm, thank you for great tip 😀
I live in Ohio and I love the little faces. I plant them everywhere I have a spot to grow. I usually just throw a handful of mulch over them before it gets cold and most survive but thin out the following year. I was surprised to see little faces about a month ago peaking out of the snow! I cant wait until they are in the stores so I can plant more and more and more...
So it looks like not only me calling pansies "little faces" yes they are happy faces flowers 😀
Some pansies are called ice pansies, and will survive a snow storm. Also they tend to reseed themselves bringing even more every year.
Wow! Didn't know that, thank you Marge 😀
