Can I plant the bulbs from the flowers I buy for Easter and do I cut them down close to the bulb or do I just plant them the way they are?

Bulbs feed off the greenery, place the entire plant in the ground.

I agree, after Easter just plant them in the ground, they will die back thats when you cut them back, and they will come back next spring

I generally buy all kinds of perennials and bulb plants after they are discounted and out of bloom. I plant them in the garden and let them die down naturally so the roots and bulbs are nourished and well established for next year. I've noted that bulbs done this way easily multiply and within about 3 years there is a very nice bed of flowers for next to nothing. Good luck and don't forget the bone meal for the bulbs.
