General contractor flush lights (otherwise known as boob lights) are all over my new house and I am looking for inexpensive and easy makeover ideas.

I recycled mine from my hallway to my basement and spray painted the rim from brass to black. Definitely looks much better!
And pray tell what is a "boob" light? do you use it to light up your boobs?
Boob lights are the round glass globes with a "nipple" at the bottom that you unscrew to change bulbs. I would replace them, recycle them by painting or just slowing replace when you find what you really like. Don't rush it, I am in the process now and believe me you don't want to go to all the trouble of replacing if you don't get the right ones!

Check out your local Restore. People and contractors donate all kinds of things there and the prices are super affordable . You might find some fixtures you like and are budget friendly .
