How do I get rid of an ant bed that moved into my asparagus bed safely
It is a raised bed separate from the rest of my garden.
Mix some boric acid with some jelly or jam. Put it in the infested area out of reach of pets or small children. You don't have to use a lot. The ants will eat it and will bring it back to "home", killing other ants. The little bit used is not harmful. Don't put it right agains a flower, it could possibly dry it out, but I think if it's mixed with jam it shouldn't be a problem.
Ants also hate peppermint, so you can put a little pure peppermint oil on cottonballs and tuck them around the area.
Apply diatomeous earth.
how about boiling water. that is the way it was done generations ago.
Never heard of this DE. I will check it out. Thank you.
