Flower Pen Arrangement

Such a brilliant idea! My sister did this so my brother-in-law wouldn't walk off with the house pens. Strange how men tend to avoid putting flowers in their pockets.

Several years ago, I saw the flower pens in different offices. They made a fast, fun reminder not to walk off with those pens. So I made a bunch for my high school students to use and return to my desk. Instead of being reminded or embarrassed, my students started slipping the flower pens out of my classroom. If I noticed one of the perky pens, I would collect it at the door. But eventually my pens all disappeared. I asked my classes why this happened. Some kids just wanted or needed a pen for other classes. But finally they told me about a teacher in a far wing of the building from me. She just loved the flower pens, and gave the students bonus points for bringing her one. I chose to pretend that she didn't realize they were coming from my classroom. I made her a dozen rose pens and put them in her mailbox in the main office. And I gave up on the flower pens for my classroom. Best wishes to all 😇
