HOW GOING VERTICAL UPS YOUR STORAGE SPACE

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know how I love to utilize space for storage – especially out of the ordinary space like the behind the door pantry I made for the duplex we were living in last year. Can’t find a place in your home to store certain slim lined items? Try the walls of your laundry room. I have two little walls to use. One is a little more than 3 linear feet and the other is probably 5-6 linear feet.

For the smaller wall space, I first hung decorative wall hooks for a broom, a mop, and one for the extra big grilling utensiles...
Then I added three large nails to the door trim. All the other grilling accessories hang from the top two nails and the bottom nail holds out back scratcher. The other wall space is filled with Christmas photos to put in the main foyer during the holidays and also hand prints of my kids when they were babies. I love looking at these when I'm doing laundry.
Next I knew I needed a "command center" in our home. This is the place for the following...
A calendar with appointments and events written on it.
The chore photos and chart.
A bulletin board for invitations, award certificates, favorite "art work".
An old cookie tin painted black to use as a magnet board.
Two TV bed trays.
A chalk board with hooks for a bicycle helmet, umbrella, and puppy dog leashes.
And a spot for the step ladder.
All that in a tiny space! It's amazing how much "room" can actually be squeezed out of a room.
