You could put hangers on the back then find studs to put nails or screws into to studs hold the weight of the piece.
I would tie it up with rope and suspend from ceiling using hooks.
It'll depend on how wide it is, which way you want to hang it and how you want to use it. I had a piece that I turned into a towel holder. We just located the studs, screwed through the driftwood into the studs and then I attached hooks to the front of it. Purchase corbels or brackets and attach to the wall at the studs. Put driftwood on top and glue and screw into the brackets or corbels.
I would just find some bracket mount those and then lay the driftwood on the bracket but not permanently on them. You may someday want to do something else with it.
