This is a simple update that I did to an old mirror that I had. This mirror is 24x36 and was very plain but now looks amazing!
Starting off with my plain old mirror. I took it outside to give it a cleaning and to spray paint it.
Next I was able to slide some newspaper inserts under the frame and taped it down to protect the mirror from the paint.
I then used some mineral spirits to clean off the frame and remove any varnish and allow the spray paint to adhere.
I used the Rustoleum 2x Silver Finish painter and primer in one spray paint to cover the frame.
I used this 1lb tub of Acrylic Jewels from Wal-Mart to create the look.
And this Clear Gel Tacky Glue to adhere the gems to the frame.
Working in small sections I added some glue to the frame.
Then spread it out in a thin layer with a Popsicle stick.
And finally added the gems ONE BY ONE in a random arrangement alternating the different sizes all over the mirror.
And Here is the Final Look!!!

Have a question about this project?
This is just gorgeous! I would like these to be magenta or burgundy - will they reflect that color from the walls or should I try to find some that color? Suuuure hoping they will reflect!
How many tubs of jewels did it take foe this size mirror?
