My Lafuma camping chairs need a makeover - seat/backs have worn out!
We have had them for years, maybe 12 years? I have restrung them twice, but now I need to replace the fabric part...and I need advice, Please? I have a sewing machine, but am not a very accomplished seamstress... Any Ideas? I haven't figured out how to phrase a search here, so maybe some have already posted their answers?
Thanks Hometalk Friends! You are all the Best!

So I did find that amazon carries replacement cords if you need new ones...if it was me I would take an old fabric piece to an large fabric store that also carries vinyl and apohlstery fabric and the like and see if they can tell you what it is or if they have anything like it....I hate to say it, but it may be cheaper to get new chairs..Just my thoughts and kudos to you for taking this one on!! Good luck and best wishes.

Moxie, I am starting to think the same thing, that I should just get new chairs. When we got these, they were brand new, and cost $130.00! This was on sale! There are many knock- offs, which ate much cheaper, and hopefully as good or better than the originals out of Canada. When I started thinking about how many grommets or holes I would need for each chair, my redo-enthusiasm took a dive!

Well, solved my LaFuma problem! I had them out at our garage sale, never thinking anyone would want them, since the side cords need replacing, and the seats do too, but a man and I think his son came by and got a lot of old stuff of my neighbor's and then his son spotted them. I think I got $5.00 apiece or maybe I gave them 50% off?! I almost took one out of the young man's hand, trying to tell him that the frame looks a bit rusted, but is still sturdy, but that the seats and backs and cords needed immediate replacement! His dad came by and said they'd be sitting in the water on them, and fishing, mostly! How could I say no!? thanks for your help, though, Moxie!
