I have found that Olive Oil will not remove water STAINS that are from lime build up. Try Lime Away or Vinegar to remove those. Then rinse well, then use the Olive Oil. It is for water spots only.

you should try barkeepers friend in liquid. Clean the sink then you rub down with alcohol and then just use baby oil and wipe sink really well. My mom's stainless sink and countertop cutting area are 54 years old and still look new. The builder 50 years ago told her this was the secret.
