My whitewashed fireplace

I whitewashed my fireplace! It was way easy. From setup to clean up it took 2 hours. Tedious and boring but well worth it. I used what I had since I got a whim at 10:30pm on Sunday night. I used glidden ceiling paint and a brush. I used 1 part paint to 2 parts water and then just kinda slopped it on. Once almost dry I went over the whole thing with a wet rag (or 6). It drys really fast. The next morning I built, sanded and stained the wood mantle. Really just a plank and leftover pine board. Changed the whole look of our family room! Yipeeeee!
Enjoyed the project?

Becky on Feb 24, 2014Thanks Mary Ann! I went back and forth for a while and then when I decided to do it-I jumped right in! I am sooo glad I did! Good luck an I hope you love it! It's sloppy so cover floor well! Also walls etc. It kind of splatters. I left all my furniture in place and just covered it. It's really easy.
