What to do about tiny black bugs in NW Arizona?

We are plagued with tiny black non-biting bugs! We have screens on all the windows but these seem to get in anyway. They are most noticeable in the bathrooms with all white fixtures. We're in the north west area of the Arizona Mojave Desert so bugs aren't usually an issue. Is there anyone who can identify them; and how to keep them out of the house? So small that they're just black specks in the sink and on the vanity..

Just a guess....maybe if you sprayed your screens with lots of Raid perhaps the smell would make them go away. Instead of the hassle of taking the screens out, if that is a hassle, spray from inside going to the outside perhaps with a low fan on behind you to keep the Raid from blowing in on you. Good luck.

Maybe if you sprayed the screens heavily with Raid and when they are dry the bugs may not like the smell on them. I would have a fan behind me facing the window I am spraying and just spray from the inside to out so don't have to take screens down. Hope it helps. We have love bugs, poor babies, that cover your car, get in the house, etc. Your problem sounds more irritating.

When we lived in Florida we had trouble with no-seeums coming through the screens. We sprayed the screens with Avon's Skin So Soft to keep them out. It worked pretty well and didn't smell so bad as bug sprays do. Worked real well on the screens on our tent when we went camping, too.

Sounds like the mosquitoes we have here in SE Minnesota this year!

Are you talking about gnats? Try a mixture of blue dawn dish detergent mixed with water (2 tablespoons dawn and fill the rest of the sprayer with water) and spray away. Or you could just mix in a small bowl a tablespoon of lemon scented dish detergent and a little water and set it where they are. Bugs hate the smell of lemon!!!

Well, you'll be pleased to hear that my lemon scent mix successfully kept all bugs away from my garage coach lights! I live by a huge forest preserve and I get a lot of bugs swarming around my garage coach lights but once I put a small bowl of my lemon scented mixture on the ledge close to my coach lights, all the bugs stopped swarming around my coach lights! Bugs hates lemon scent and this includes spiders!
