What is the best way to clean a burnt pot?
place a fabric softener sheet in the pan and fill with hot water. Let sit overnight.
Soak them overnight in plenty of Dawn dishwashing liquid. In the morning most of the stains can be lifted off with minimum scrubbing. If there's anything left, the stain should be easily removed with a little Comet, a scouring pad and elbow grease.

baking soda or comet dry bleach and a scrub sponge with a few drops of water
The inside of the pot/pan I let sit overnight with a generous amount of baking soda and some very hot water. Usually comes right off in the morning! Good luck!
Add tsp cream of tartar to water in the pot and boil.
