I can get my SS sink spot free and gleaming, but all I have to do is turn the water on once and it is loaded with water spots. Drying it after each use is a pain!

Bar Keeper's Friend is the best for stainless steel kitchen sinks. You can find it in the cleanser area where you find Comet and Ajax. It is the best!
Unfortunately, the sink is always in use with detergent and detergent removes just about anything you can use to shine SS. I have found that a spritz of WD40 on a paper towel gives a good wipe down to the faucet and sink to remove water spots. I guess that you could give it a good scrub and then use automotive paste wax to seal it but it will not last long.
Bar keepers friend is great stuff! If your looking for some type of barrier to help prevent spotting, I would try using a food sourced oil like vegetable or Olive oil and rub well.
White vinegar will get rid of water spots. Spray it on and move it around a little..scour as normal and dry the sink every night. Furniture polish also works to shine it up

Hello, I use 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup of blue dawn dish soap. Mix them together and put in a spray bottle. If there are any really tough stains I also use a magic eraser on them.
